Specialist concrete crews from Contrax were called in by Fulton Hogan to support emergency work on the New Lynn Culvert after devasting flash floods swept through the area, damaging roads and more than 200 properties across West Auckland.
Contrax worked on both the upgrade to a new 50m long box culvert and remediation of the surrounding area. Challenging site conditions were compounded weeks later when Cyclone Debbie hit the area. The works also included road works, building retaining walls and the construction of a new pocket park/lookout. All works were completed to specification.
Environmental monitoring was conducted throughout the 12 months project and no acidic concrete waste was found in surrounding waterways.
