WELLSFORD SKATEPARK

Contrax was contracted by Auckland Council to extend and revamp the Wellsford Skatepark. The existing skatepark housed only a timber half pipe and basic concrete bowl. The new design called for the construct of multiple skate features, a capping of the existing bowl, half-court basketball court, 2x swing sets, seating, and landscaping.

The project was heading by one of our most senior staff who alongside our in-house specialist teams delivered what we believe to be some of our finest work yet. The park opened with much fanfare and has been extensively used by locals since then.

In-house specialist concrete crews, carpenters, drainlayers and digger operators were supported by an engineer and site supervisor.  Contrax delivered all on-site work to completion, including:

  • Site inspection, demolition and preparation
  • Design input
  • Excavation/earthworks
  • Drainage
  • Rebar and form work
  • Construction of features: bowl, full pipe, quarter pipe, ramps
  • Finishing and curing concrete surfaces
  • Steel coping for grind edges
  • Timber and concrete retaining walls
